Treasury Secretary Speaks Before Racial Equity Advisory Committee

Requests input on the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen spoke with the Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity recently, requesting guidance on how best to implement provisions from recently-passed legislation.

The American Rescue Plan, passed in 2021, and the Inflation Reduction Act, passed in 2022, still have major components that have yet to be incorporated into President Biden’s administration. Secretary Yellen attended this third committee meeting to glean insight into how policies related to this legislation can be used to address racial inequalities in the United States.

“Thank you again for volunteering your time to this important work,” Secretary Yellen said. “As we continue our work, guidance from experts from a wide range of backgrounds is very valuable. That’s why this Committee and all of you in this room are so important”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Yellen to seek God’s direction as she looks for ways to address racial inequity.
  • For the members of the Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity as they provide recommendations.
